TRI
For the last four months or so Steve has been training for his first triathlon. And he trained hard, waking up at 4:45am to get his biking or running in, usually logging many more miles than what would be required of him in the race. The closer race day got, the more he'd train, tucking kids in bed, then going off to some swimming hole to work on his stroke. That said, Steve was well prepared.
It was an exciting day. We woke up real early, got some breakfast in our tummies and headed off to meet 'Dad' at the lake. (He'd gone hours before us - when it was still dark). Thanks to two sets of Grandpa's and Grandma's, who came to town for the occasion, I was able to get a few good shots of our exciting day. Despite a few "rookie errors" that he openly admits to, (i.e. losing his water bottle on the bike leg, thus dehydrating himself on a humid 99 degree day), he did well and we are all so proud of him.
Oh, and I did make some special shirts to help cheer on their dad. It seemed easier than carrying a big sign which would end up getting torn
