Remember the last time you opened your mailbox and found something that wasn't a bill or a coupon? Something someone actually made for you, thought about, and sent on purpose?
Yeah, me either. And I think it’s high time we change that.
We live in a world that is louder, faster, and more ‘connected’ than ever, and yet somehow, so many of us feel more disconnected than we ever have. We scroll. We double-tap. We consume thousands of images a day and remember almost none of them. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, we forget to slow down long enough to notice the small, beautiful things God has given us throughout every single season of our lives.
That's why I created The OUT Post.
What Is The OUT Post?
The OUT Post is outdoor-inspired snail mail for adults — a monthly subscription that shows up right in your physical mailbox, from my hands to yours. No algorithms. No ads. Just something real, something beautiful, and something meant specifically for you.
Each monthly mailing includes three things:
A hand-painted nature print : Every illustration I create for The OUT Post is a realistic, yet whimsical rendering of our natural world — a small piece of the big, beautiful Creation we've been given to enjoy. Each print is purposely set against a clean, white minimalist background so that your eye has nowhere else to go but there — to the thing God made. You can prop it on your windowsill, tuck it into your Bible, frame it on your desk, or simply hold it and take a deep breathe for a second.
A personal letter: This isn't a newsletter. It's a letter — written from my heart to yours. Each month I'll share something from my own life, whether at the cabin, in the northwoods, or around the kitchen table, and connect it to something God is teaching me. My hope is that wherever you are, and whatever path you’re on right now — in a full, busy season, a heavy, lonely one, a scary new chapter, or a quietly beautiful mundane one — these words will encourage you and point you back to the One who is always walking right beside you.
A pass-along postcard: This one is my favorite part. Tucked inside every mailing is a postcard featuring the same illustration as your print — because in a world where so many people are hurting, lonely, or just feeling unseen, it truly doesn't take much to make someone's day. You keep the print. You pass the card along — to your neighbor, your mom, your college kid, the friend who's been on your heart. Let God lead you to the right person that month.
The First Season — The Blue Jay
The inaugural OUT Post mailing features one of my original watercolor illustrations of a blue jay — and I chose this bird on purpose.
Did you know blue jay pairs often stay together for life? They build together, raise their young together, and even in the coldest Minnesota winters you'll find them calling back and forth through the trees, never far from each other. God designed even the loud, scrappy blue jay to not do life alone.
And friend, He designed you the same way.
The letter tucked inside this first mailing is written around that truth — and around Joshua 1:9:
"Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
New seasons can feel scary. New chapters can feel unsteady. But you are not walking into yours alone.
